Yesterday I had a great day because a big friend, invited me to eat for my birthday. Yes, despite of my birthday was tuesday, all the malls and place is closed this day for holiday, so is difficult for me celebrate this day properly. This big friend is Andres Corella of the black label's blog and he was invited other friends for that day but for compromises they couldn't to go. But... it was a good moment, in a good place and with good company too. It's the first time of all my life that somebody invites me for my birthday and this for me it's so special, the place was good selected, because I love Japan, and the japanese food too. It's part of my roots because I'm a good percentage Asian...my mother's father was Chinese and I'm proud of have Asian blood like part of me.
This place was Matsuei, the place like you can to see in the photo is cozy from first time, with an excellent decoration and ambientation.

Well...the food, was perfect I love everything of each dishes, beginning with the entries, a fabulous and delicious Gyoza...the flavor is soft and somtehing sweet.
following for an Onigiri of Salmon, This was my Otaku part because I seen so much this delicious dish in different animes like the favorite food for a lunch, in fact, this is part of bento a lunch box for kids and workers with much love, dedication and full of flavor.
These are called "Ume" Sushi and it's a combination of Ikura (Salmon roe), Tako (octopus) Ebi (shrimp) fresh salmon, sumiri, Maguro (tuna) susuki (croaker) and masago (Smelt roe).
This fuzzy photo is other dish and when I remembered of take a picture just had the half, this dish is Moriawase tempura.
And for end my Japanese food degustation, Maki Sushi...Yummy! and Harumaki that is a japanese version of Chinese Spring rolls.
I'm very grateful for this big moment for me and my memories, it's my first celebration outside of my family, and this is so perfect because each of you make a new family with your true friends and this moment are forever! Thank you Andres, and thanks to all the beautiful people that send me amazing birthday greetings in my Facebook. With a little gesture is perfect for me, sometimes the material isn't so important, for me the sentimental part is something that fill my soul and my heart and makes my day.
Oh I can't pass this incredible gift of Andres, I wanted so much this book because I love cook too and also I'm pastry chef (it's one of my careers) and this books is fabulous because is about artisan breads and written for Eric. W. Kastel, a Certified Master Baker and edited for the best American Chef Institute, The culinary Institute of America...I'm happy, my year began perfect and will be perfect all the year, I know that so shall! Thanks for everything!
