I love Asian models because part of my roots are Asian (My father's mother was Chinese) and they are something special, different and exotic. I like so much Fei Fei Sun, she is gorgeous, talented and fierce in her photoshoots and catwalk. and when you combines Vogue Italia, Steven Meisel and Fei Fei Sun the result is a bomb.
In this issue, she personifies to the Richard Avedon's muse: China Machado (He was a renowned Photographer and portraitist, he did wonderful works for fashion magazines like Harper's Bazaar (where he was the head of photography) Vogue, LIFE and LOOK. )
She was one of the most requested runway models of the 50's and was a Senior fashion editor in Harper's Bazaar) China (pronounced Cheena) was the first asian model and a supermodel with fierceness and exotic beauty, for example these photographies, one of them of 50's and the other more recently to her 81 years old.
The editorial was in charged of Steven Meisel, the wonderful photographer of the all the amazing editorial of Vogue Italia, the stylism ( with great pieces like Chanel, Valentino, Gucci, Miu Miu and Giorgio Armani) was in charged of Lori Goldstein and the beautiful makeover was in charged of the great Pat McGrath. I'm in love with this editorial, it's so similar to the style of Machado in her times and each piece is chosen with meticulosity, making a big visual impact. For my concept, Vogue Italia has began with good standing, and no doubt, everything here is perfect.
